After Advanced Nutrition's advice and using DC X-Zel for our transition cows we have found they are fitter and healthier. They don’t lose much condition after they calve, right through to lactation. They just calve down better.
Feeding the dairy cow - yeasts
The dairy cow diet requires yeasts to maintain a healthy rumen, critical in delivering milk yield and overall cow performance. With independent research and testing, our team will help select proven live yeasts. It’s important to ensure that the product delivers the maximum number of live yeast cells to the digestive track of the animal.
If you herd suffers from conditions such as acidosis, yeasts can be used to help balance the rumen pH.
Triggers of acidosis may include:
- High levels of fermentable carbohydrates
- Finely chopped forages
- Poorly fermented forages
- Low levels of structural fibre
- High concentrate use
- Spring grass
